Welcome to the JTHF Online Pediatric Brain Tumor Resource Center. This site was created to provide factual information to help parents make critical life altering decisions for their children. It is our hope that the information found on this site will empower parents to take a more active role in determining a treatment program for their child that balances the best available medical care with the best quality of life.

Parents of a child with a newly diagnosed brain tumor are under extreme stress and pressure to quickly make decisions that have long term ramifications. Our goal is to present the information in a manner that is easy to understand, useful and beneficial. Parents can use the JTHF Resource Center to do research on the latest treatment options and clinical trials, educate themselves on medical terminology, locate the leading institutions and get contact information on the specialists on the specific tumor your child is fighting.

Certain types of brain tumors are curable and others are not. You need to clearly understand your options in order to make the best decision for your child. Always get a second opinion and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Focused research will lead to a cure and new treatment options are being developed all the time, so do not give up hope.

One thing to always remember is that you are not alone on this journey. There are individuals, organizations and support groups available to help you. Other parents that have gone down this path before you are more than willing to share the lessons learned, you just need to ask. Hold onto your faith, your family and your friends… you will need them all.
