Tom Hayden, Executive Director of the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation recently met with the Lakota Optimist Club to explore mutual opportunities for both organizations to work collaboratively to support the youth of West Chester and Liberty Townships. A number of projects were identified and plans are moving forward.

The Optimist Club will take an active role in the Annual Piggy Bank collection drive and will also be assisting with the upcoming Robert Jackson Annual Golf Classic on September 29, 2008. The Optimist Club also participates in the Annual Optimist International fund raiser for Pediatric Brain Tumors. These funds are collected annually at the local Walmart store in the month of May. 50 % of the dollars collected go to Optimist International to help fight Pediatric Cancer and the local Club may use the other 50% to support local efforts for Pediatric Brain Cancer They have pledged the local share to the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation beginning in 2009.
