We have big plans at the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation (JTHF) and
we wanted to let you know about what we have on our plate for 2007.
Events
We have three major Fundraisers on the calendar in 2007 including;
Jeffrey’s 5 K Family Fun Walk in May, The Robert Jackson JTHF Fall Golf
Classic in October and our main event, the Play Ball Dinner & Auction in
November. Details can be found on our website under the “Events”
section.
Newsletter
We are currently seeking volunteers to produce a quarterly newsletter to
keep people informed on what’s happening at JTHF and to help increase
awareness about the problem of pediatric brain tumors. Contact us if you
are interested in helping. Positions available include editor, writers,
lay out artists, graphic designers and photographers.
Brochure
We are working on an informational brochure that will be distributed to
all Children’s Hospitals in North America and to all institutions that
treat pediatric brain tumors. We will hand these out at events and make
them available to other foundations seeking to raise awareness. The
brochure will give basic information to parents and direct them to
various parts of our website to find specific information and get them
in contact with other parents.
TumorTracker™
The release of the TumorTracker database is scheduled for Q2 – 2007.
This will be a first of its kind database for parents of newly diagnosed
pediatric brain tumors to go and do their own research on finding
treatment options, locating leading institutions and physicians, and
educate themselves on the choices and results of what other parents
experienced in the past. This will be the foundation of our Online
Pediatric Brain Tumor Resource Center.
Administrative
We will look at updating our medical advisory board and have them
provide information on the latest conventional treatments and
protocols’s and publish any papers relevant to finding a cure. We are
overhauling and cleaning up our mailing database to be more efficient
when sending our reminders and notices of upcoming events. We are
working on upgrading the website and introducing a newly designed logo.
