June 16, 2006
On Sunday, April 30th, about 500 Freedom Elementary students, parents, staff members and some Hayden family members attended the Cincinnati Reds game at the Great American Ball Park. A portion of the ticket sales went to the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation and resulted in about $1,300 being raised.

On that day, Freedom was also honored by the Joe Nuxhall Character Education Foundation and the Reds Community Fund as their very first School of Character. This was in recognition of Freedom being named a 2006 National School of Character by the Character Education Partnership, one of only ten schools in the country to receive the honor. Prior to the game, six Freedom students as well as staff members and parents were allowed to go on the field to receive a large banner, $500 check and other gifts.

JTHF would like to thank our friends at Freedom elementary for a job well done. Congratulations Freedom!!

The Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation is a registered 501c(3) non profit organization that was created to Make a Difference in the fight against pediatric brain tumors. For more information visit our web site at www.jthf.org
