Over 300 people turned out on a beautiful sunny morning for the 2nd Annual Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation 5K Family Fun Walk. Initial reports indicate that over $20,000 was raised for our Scholarship program. A detailed release will be made once all pledges and sponsor money has been accounted for. Photo’s will be posted on the website.

The main purpose of this release is to let you know it’s not too late to turn in pledge money. People were asking how they can get a JTHF hat, a sweatshirt or a back pack. If you want one or more of these fantastic items you have until May 31st to get in all your pledges to be eligible for the additional prizes. Send the money to JTHF, PO Box 1236, West Chester, OH 45071. Include your contact information so we can get a hold of you.

$100 in pledges (including registration fee) makes you eligible for the JTHF hat, which comes in either red or white.

$200 in pledges (including registration fee) makes you eligible for the JTHF sweatshirt, which comes in small, med, large, XL and 2XL.

$300 in pledges (including registration fee) makes you eligible for the JTHF Back Pack, which comes in red only.

The winner of the iPod Nano was Chelsea Pitonyak. In the spirit of true giving, Chelsea an 8th grade student at Ridge Jr. High, donated the iPod back to the Foundation. We in turn donated it to Chelsea’s school to be used in a JTHF fundraiser that the students are coordinating. Thanks Chelsea!

Thanks to our sponsors Fifth Third Bank, Wellington Orthopaedics, Yelton’s Fine Jewelry, Rite Track, Cabling Specialists, and DeGeorge Ceilings. Thanks to Tradewinds for supplying the drinks and special thanks to Shay from the Outback Steakhouse on Rt 4 & 275 for cooking up some of the best burgers on the planet!

Thanks to our Walk committee chairperson Kate Miller and her legion of faithful volunteers that worked so hard to make this event a success. Look for Kate’s Walk Report in an upcoming press release.
