March
21, 2006
The 2006 Lakota March Madness Tournament is expected to be the best
ever in the six year history of the event. There will be 92 boys and
girls teams from grade 3 to 6 with over 875 Lakota students
participating, with every elementary school in the district being
represented.
Well over 100 adults have volunteered their time to help coach a team
or help with the tournament organization itself and there are dozens
more handling the gate and concessions at each of the tournament games.
East and West high school players, both boys and girls, will be
refereeing the games this year.
The tournament will run from Monday, March 27 through Thursday, April
6 and the proceeds from the tournament go to Reach-Out Lakota and The
Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation.
