The weather was perfect and course was in great shape as 120 golfers from as far away as California, Arizona, Texas and Minnesota enjoyed a day of golf and fun at the Beckett Ridge Country Club in West Chester, Ohio. The event chairman, John Siegel, was pleased to announced that the 1st Annual Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation (JTHF) Fall Classic Golf Outing raised over $40,000. The final number will be published within a couple of weeks once all the funds are properly recorded. The proceeds of the Golf Outing will be donated to the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Scholarship Fund to benefit families with children that have been affected by this horrible disease. Special thanks to Joan Baldasare and all of the volunteers that worked so hard to make the event go so smoothly.

The day was filled with excitement as Mark Huber recorded a hole-in-one on #6 to win a set of Ping Drivers and bag. Congratulations go out to our skill contest winners. Duanne Lorenz won the longest drive contest and Winslow Garnier and Gene Kalhorn each won closest to the pin contests on holes #10 and 16 respectively. Each were rewarded with some prizes and gift certificates that were donated by Dicks Sporting Goods.

Mike Nieberding was the grand prize raffle winner and took home a very nice set of golf clubs courtesy of Nike Golf. Special thanks go out to Yelton’s Fine Jewelery and Eastgate Pools and Spa’s for providing items that were awarded in our very successful raffle.

The Dixie Food Service team, lead by John Sigel, won first place with a score of 55. Needless to say they used their fair share of Mulligans. West Chester’s Worst Golfers, lead by Tom Hayden, recorded a 94 to claim the “Most Honest Score” award.

JTHF wants to thank the local sports celebrities that joined us on Monday. They include; Cincinnati Cyclone and local hockey legend Don Biggs, and former Bengal greats Barney Bussey and Robert Jackson, along with All Pro David Fulcher.

We want to thank our major sponsors; Rite Track, Babcock and Brown, Schumacher Dugan, Cincinnati Valve and Fitting, Oswald Construction, Anderson Automatic Heating and Air, Amicon Plastics, and Acordia Insurance. Thanks to Busam Nissan and Dicks Sporting Goods for sponsoring the competition holes and to Miller Brewery for the drink stations. Special thanks to the 18 companies that sponsored Pin Flag’s and the over 20 companies and individuals that sponsored the Hole’s, we appreciate your involvement!
