Congratulations to Dr. Lars Wagner of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) on being awarded a 2005 research grant from CancerFree Kids. This research grant will help fund a study to look at the MGMT protein to determine what percentage of tumors contain it and to see if a new drug can be added to the chemo regimen to enhance the effectiveness and lower its resistance to the current drugs now being administered.

Dr. Wagner is joined on this project, which is officially titled the “Assessment of MGMT as a Therapeutic Target for Neuroblastoma”, by Drs. Collins and Weiss. Dr. Wagner is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and a member of the JTHF Medical Advisory Board. He is active in the fight against pediatric brain tumors and nationally recognized as a leader in his field of study.
